Jobs For Youth

Developed to help youth 18 to 23 find employment.

Equinejobs4youth.org was recently formed in January of 2020. The program was developed to help youths primarily in the 18 to 23 year old age range find employment. The program includes (a) able bodied young adults (with or without college degrees), and (b) young adults with special needs (with or without college degrees). The type of equine employment currently available to the 18 to 23 year old youth population ranges from jobs requiring advanced degrees to jobs which only require "hands on training. According to the American Horse Council Foundation 2017 National Economic Impact Study the horse industry contributes approximately $50 billion in direct economic impact to the U.S. economy, and has a direct employment impact of 988,394 jobs. Additionally, the industry itself contributes $38 billion in direct wages, salaries, and benefits. From those direct effects, the horse industry contribution ripples out into other sectors of the economy. Adding these ripple effects results in an estimate of the total contribution of the horse industry to the U.S. economy of $122 billion, and a total employment impact of 1.7 million jobs.
